History

The Casa (Home) MiMà project begins at the end of 2020 with the purchase of the house thanks to the financial contribution left by my mother who passed away on 5/12/2019.

Together with my partner, originally from Brindisi, we decided to start this adventure even if the difficult period of the pandemic soon began; together we thought about the changes (actually few) to be made to the structure and, above all, we furnished the house as “our home” for the holidays functional to our family.

Every year, in fact, my family and I spend the summer holidays (and sometimes even the winter ones) in Brindisi, to be with friends and relatives, also moving around to enjoy the beautiful beaches; in the evening, upon returning home, we can also taste the local food and wine that the nearby Piazza del Mercato offers in abundance.

The name Casa MiMà was therefore chosen to commemorate my Mom since in the local dialect, that is spoken in Viareggio, in Tuscany (where we live) "my Mom" becomes “MiMà”; also Mi and Ma are the initials of my last two children (Michael and Manuel).

The logo of Casa MiMà instead derives from an idea of the artist Gionata Francesconi from Viareggio

friend I met in 1980 on the most beautiful sailing ship in the world (Amerigo Vespucci), to whom I asked to create something that would suit the Home and its spirit.

The masks are a reminder of the Viareggio Carnival

The mask on the right is the caricature of my Uncle Beppe Domenici (my mother's brother), born and lived in Viareggio, who was an eclectic artist and has ranged between multiple artistic forms https://archiviobeppedomenici.com/

The b/w photo of Beppe coming out of the skeleton (the skeletons were the work of Gionata Francesconi) was taken in 1990 in Australia in Melbourne where Beppe brought the Viareggio carnival!
